With the focus on transformation and integrated services for persons with co-occurring disorders, greater emphasis has been placed on the use of treatment
practices that have been tested and shown by research to be effective. However, implementing new evidence-based practices into an agency for the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders for youth, adolescents, and adults is a challenging endeavor.
DMHMRSAS, COSIG/VASIP, and the Mid-Atlantic ATTC are
sponsoring this event to convene the substance abuse and mental health state and local leadership to facilitate system wide
transformation and implementation of EBPs.
Participants will explore:
- What is an evidence-based practice?
- What is the research about the implementation of
these practices?
- What are the benefits
- What difficulties are encountered?
- What are the costs?
- What are the effects on staff workloads and morale?
- What role do supervisors and managers play?
- What are the benefits to clients and families?
- What does “recovery” mean in this context?
